The official high temperatures today at HSV was 38°. That high occurred at 12:02 AM. Since then temperatures have dropped through the afternoon through the lower 30s.
That high temperature actually broke a record. Today was the lowest high temperature on record. The old record was 40° in 1968.
The overnight will bring clear skies and exceptionally cold temperatures across the Tennessee Valley. Many will see lows on Wednesday morning in the mid to upper teens and lower 20s.
Catching the school bus tomorrow should involve all the layers with many in the low 20s.
The good news here is that we will be “warmer” tomorrow. Warm is relative though because temperatures will still be significantly below average, only making it to the mid-40s.
