This project will cost 1.2 million dollars.

The money comes from the cities gas sales tax and general fund balance.

After all the resurfacing is completed, hopefully, no more potholes will have a hold on you.

"The roads we picked are based on a rating system, and that's done by our engineering department. So, they will rank all of the roads that need it the most and we just go straight down that list for every district. So, we've done Vestavia Drive and the Kmart Frontage Road, those were Monday, we also started Indian Hills and then we'll do Memorial Drive, and we'll wrap up with 14th Street and 8th Street," said Emme Long, communication specialist, City of Decatur.

If you know of a street in Decatur that you think should be repaved, visit the City of Decatur's engineering concern form webpage and submit a paving request.

Additionally, U.S. 31 between Falkville and Hartselle is expected to experience delays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 10 due to work being done on the new southbound bridge in Cedar Creek.
