In the midst of spring football practice, The North Alabama Lions coaching staff took a major hit. Ryan Aplin, the Lions’ offensive coordinator for the past two seasons, recently accepted a job with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers football program. He’s expected to coach the running backs and be the team’s co-offensive coordinator.
The news was first reported by Michael Hebert and Craig Thomas of the Times Daily in Florence, Alabama.
Under Aplin, UNA had the best passing offense in the Big South Conference during the 2019 football season. The Lions averaged 285 passing yards per contest. His starting quarterback Christian Lopez was an all-conference selection under Aplin this past season as well.
