HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its Preseason All-South Region Team, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team was represented by Garrett Bodine as a Preseason All-South Region honoree.
A native of Harvest, Alabama, Bodine enters his senior season after being selected as a First Team All-Gulf South Conference as well as an NCBWA All-South Region honoree in 2022.
Bodine led all Chargers with 100 or more at-bats in batting average (.383), on-base percentage (.480), slugging percentage (.584), runs (58), hits (80), doubles (13), and total bases (122). He also begins 2023 on a 33-game hit streak dating back to March 13, 2022.
In his career thus far, Bodine boasts a .361 average over 141 games played too go along with 37 doubles, seven triples, 17 homeruns, 146 runs scored, 105 RBI and 85 walks.
UAH opens the 2023 season on the road at Saint Leo on Feb. 3-4 in St. Leo, Florida, before returning home for a series against Missouri St. Louis from Feb. 10-12.
