Houston ready for Sweet Sixteen date with Kentucky

Houston and Kentucky will play for a spot in the Elite Eight tonight and the Cougars say they're ready for the challenge of upsetting the Wildcats.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Houston and Kentucky will play for a spot in the Elite Eight tonight and the Cougars say they’re ready for the challenge of upsetting the Wildcats.

The two teams are set to tip off about 10 p.m. ET.  You can hear from the Houston players in the video above.

Galen Robinson Jr: It’s definitely surreal. We walked in this locker room, and we were like dang this is a big locker room! It’s just another award for all our hard work because we work so hard. You guys would not believe how hard we work, and the stuff that everybody doesn’t see, just to be able to be here is nothing short of a blessing. We’re definitely not supposed to be here. If you just look at the list fo the teams in the Sweet Sixteen they’re all from power five schools. We’re probably the only team that’s an outlier, but we’ve earned our way into this and we believe in ourselves.

Corey Davis Jr: Just to play for something bigger than yourself is something that basketball players in general choose to do and just the city we’re playing for, the community, all the amazing people that support us every day, it’s just a blessing.

Armoni Brooks: We’re just really focused, this is the most focused I think I’ve seen everyone in the locker room. We know it’s win or go home right now, and we aren’t ready to go home.
