AUBURN, Alabama–Following a week with a road loss to Georgia and a home victory vs. Tennessee, the Auburn basketball Tigers dropped two spots in the AP Top 25 poll from 13th to 15th. Kentucky is the top rated team at eighth. The Tigers play the Wildcat on Saturday in Lexington.
The Tigers began the season at No. 24 in the AP poll and climbed as high as No.4 in the January 13th ranking. Kansas is No. 1 this week following a victory over Baylor, which is ranked No. 2.
The Tigers return to action with a 6 p.m. CST home contest on Tuesday vs. Ole Miss in a rematch with the Rebels, a team the Tigers defeated 83-82 in double overtime at Oxford on January 28th. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Auburn improved to 23-4 on Saturday with a 73-66 victory over Tennessee. The Tigers are 10-4 in the SEC in a tie for second place with LSU, two games behind Kentucky.
Ole Miss is 13-14 overall and 4-10 in the SEC following a home loss to Alabama on Saturday.
In the NCAA Net rankings the Tigers are No. 28 with Kansas No. 1. Kentucky is the top SEC team in that rating at No. 21.
