HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — 24 hours after Prairie View was forced to postpone their game with Alabama A&M, a new date has been set.

The Sports Information Department at Alabama A&M has confirmed with the WZDX Sports Team that Alabama A&M will now travel to Prairie View on April 3rd, 2021. Kickoff for that game will now take place at 2 p.m.

Prairie View had to pause activities and postpone their games with Alabama A&M (March 20th) & Jackson State (March 28th) due to a positive Covid-19 test within their organization.

This action follows the guidelines and protocols set by the league and its COVID-19 Advisory Committee.

For Alabama A&M, this was the 3rd time a game had been canceled or postponed this season due to the coronavirus. The Bulldogs were scheduled to face Alcorn State on February 27th, but Alcorn State decided to opt out of for the entire season. The SWAC rewarded Alabama A&M a forfeited win because of that. Next, the Bulldogs were set to travel to Mississippi Valley State on March 6th, but that game was postponed to April 24th because of a positive Covid-19 test within their organization. Now the game against Prairie View has been pushed back to April 3rd, a day that both teams previously had off.

With the postponement, A&M will return to the field on Saturday, March 27 as they welcome Grambling to Louis Crews Stadium in their lone home game of the season.
