Today local and international organizations are uniting in the fight against cancer.
It’s all part of World Cancer Day. The international day marked each year on February 4th, raises awareness of cancer and encourages prevention, detection, and treatment. The American Cancer Society said, taking action against the disease is a community effort.
“Our slogan is attacking cancer from every angle. Whether you do that by supporting us a volunteer or getting involved in a local event, there are so many areas and ways to contribute to the fight against cancer,” said Kaki Morrow, Senior Community Development Manager for American Cancer Society.
World Cancer Day has been organized and led by the Union for International Cancer Control since 2000.
