FLORENCE, Ala. – University of North Alabama Head Football Coach Chris Willis has announced the addition to two transfers who will help fortify the Lions’ defense this fall.

Defensive End Wallace Cowins of Conyers, Ga., is transferring to UNA from Coastal Carolina University and linebacker Kendric Haynes of Mobile, Ala., is transferring from Holmes (Miss.) Community College.

Cowins, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound junior, was an all-state selection in his senior season at Heritage High School in Conyers. He led the state in tackles that season with 178. 

Cowins played in 10 games as a sophomore at Coastal Carolina in 20189 and had eight tackles, including one tackle for loss.

Haynes, a 6-1, 225, Sophomore, played at Murphy High School before signing with the University of South Alabama as a three-star prospect. After a red-shirt season at USA, he played at Holmes in 2018.
