Daniel Whitt of Madison City Schools and Jennifer Williams of Central School are recipients of the 2017 2017 Marbury Technology Innovation Award.

Whitt won in the Central Office Administrator/Leader category and Williams won for Elementary Teacher.

The award, now in its 14th year, honors technology innovator Chiquita Marbury’s years of service in Alabama by “recognizing educators who are exemplary models of technology teachers and leaders.”

According to the State of Alabama Department of Education, Nominees were judged based upon the following five criteria: Innovation and Creativity, Impact on Teaching and Learning, Leadership, Teamwork, and Scholarship.

The awards panel rated teacher attribute scores for the highest level of excellence in each criteria.

Winners will receive a trophy of recognition at the 2017 Alabama Educational Technology Conference (AETC) held June 13-15 at Hoover High School.
