Land Trust of North Alabama is reminding people to pay attention to signs while hiking at the Blevins Gap Nature Preserve.
Some trails along Cecil Ashburn Drive have become dangerous due to blasting in the area and are clsoed until construction is done.
They are working to add more signs to make hikers aware of which trails are dangerous to be on right now. Land Trust of North Alabama Executive Director, Marie Bostick, says there has already been one close call when hikers recently took to a closed trail.
“There was a blast that, you know, was going to be set, and luckily people saw them before the blast went off, and so they were able to alert them and get them out of the way before something really bad happened,” said Bostick.
