Tennessee governor Bill Lee says he wants to enact some of the strictest abortion laws in the nation.
Lee said he’ll soon introduce legislation that will ban most abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, or about six weeks into pregnancy, and before many women know they’re pregnant.
Lee said, “”This is a different bill, and we worked together to enhance that bill so that we believe that it would be one worth fighting for to make its way through the courts.”
This is similar to the laws passed in other states in recent years which face many legal challenges.
