Teachers in Madison County are taking time out of their weekends so they can better teach their students about bio-molecules.

The Free2Teach program got a grant from the Alpha Foundation to provide Molecules of Life 3D kits for teachers to use in their classrooms. The training and kits are available for all teachers in any of the three school systems in Madison County. All they have to do is check the 3D molecules out and return them when they’re done.

“It actually allows more teachers to be able to utilize the materials so that every teacher doesn’t have to go buy this, you know, six or seven hundred dollar kit for their classroom,” said Educational Professional of Learning Specialist at HudsonAlpha, Jennifer Hutchinson.

The models give students hands on learning experience, and they can be used to cover several lessons required by the state.
