HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – College students and recent grads – if you’re looking for an internship over the summer, the City of Huntsville is accepting applications for internships throughout various departments.

Some of the departments available to intern with include:

  • Business Relations (Administration)
  • Communication (Administration)
  • Multicultural Affairs (Administration)
  • Animal Services
  • Community Development
  • Emergency Management (EMA)
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Geographic Information System (GIS)
  • Information Technology Services
  • Legal
  • Legal (prosecution office)
  • Planning
  • Natural Resources
  • Traffic Engineering

If you want to apply, you need to be at least 19 years old and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. You can also apply if you graduated from college within the last six months.

The internship program runs from June 8 to July 31. The positions are unpaid, and interns will work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless the department specifies differently.

You can apply online through March 16 at HuntsvilleAL.gov/jobs. Accepted interns will be notified in April.
