Beginning the week of December 16th, street sweeping will begin on all curb and gutter streets in the City of Madison. Sweeping will begin in the Northwest quarter of the City on December 16th, 2019 and continue in quarter sections of all curb and gutter roads located within the City of Madison.

Weather permitting; the street sweeping will be completed in 6 weeks. Due to the holidays, no work will be completed from December 23rd – January 1st.

The city says that residents should not park or place any items in these streets between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Yard debris, trash receptacles and recycle bins should be placed directly behind the curb for your weekly pick-up. They hope this one-time sweeping will improve the quality of storm water runoff by removing contaminants from the street before they can enter the storm system.
