HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For 35 years, Specialized Alternatives for Families & Youth have worked to strengthen families and communities by helping children achieve permanency, safety, well-being and self-sufficiency. Today they dove deeper, and reached out to the community of Huntsville to bring awareness to their work.
Locals were invited to SAFY’s office in Huntsville to learn more about what they do.
“Think about the life skills they are missing out on. You might take your son out and teach him how to cut the grass. That’s something this child might never learn to do,” Whitney Davis added, “These kids might not learn these things because they’re grouped together with all these other children because there aren’t any other homes open for us to put them in.”
