Crews began preparing for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Fireworks Extravaganza today.
Unloading and setting up are only part of putting together thisfireworks show, though. There are dozens of hours of planning that go into itas well. After days of planning this Fireworks Extravaganza, they decided onsending off 1,000 fireworks in about fifteen minutes.
U.S. Space and Rocket Center Director of Communications, PatAmmons, said, “These will be six inch shells, so these will be those highflying, really beautiful fireworks that we love to see.”
The prep doesn’t end today. Crews will be back tomorrow morningat 10:00 a.m. to set up the explosives and electrical connections.
The U.S. Space and Rocket Center will be celebrating all daytomorrow with patriotic activities, but they are closing the doors at 7:30 p.m.to get ready for the fireworks show.
“They’re designed to be seen from the vicinity, so that’swhy you don’t have to be on the grounds to be able to enjoy this, you can beanywhere you can see the rocket,” said Ammons.
The fireworks show will begin tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m.
