The Huntsville Police Incident Review Board has found that officers involved in the April 3rd shooting death of Jeffery Louis Parker acted within policy.

Police were called out to the 6400 Block of Deramus Avenue in reference to a possible suicidal person. When they arrived they found the 49-year-old Parker armed with a pistol.

Parker failed to comply with officers’ commands to drop the gun, according to the report. One shot was fired at Parker, who died as a result.

There were three officers on the scene and there was documented video footage of this incident from the officers’ body-worn cameras . The video footage, officers’ testimony, and physical evidence were presented to the Incident Review Board which found that all officers involved performed within Huntsville Police Policies, Procedures, and Training.
