A student housing community in Florence that broke ground last Fall, despite some push back from the community is now leasing.
Bellamy Florence student apartments broke ground last September and is now leasing for Fall 2018.
“The students have really responded, to this area and what we’re offering for them,” expressed Jake Strickland, Director of Business Development for Mallory & Evans Development.
The upscale apartment community will provide housing for 420 students in the area. “The average rent would be mid $500 depending on what you’re looking for. We do over 3-bedroom, 3-bath; 4-bedroom, 4-bath and 5-bedroom, 5-bath apartments,” Strickland explained.
The gated community will have fully-furnished apartments. “The headboards also will come with USB plugins on the side of the headboards for charging of their cellular devices or computer,” said Strickland.
The latest smart-home technology including Amazon Alexa will also be included. “We’re actually adding the Alexa smart home assistance into the living rooms of these units that will be able to operate thermostats, doors and of course the other basic things that Alexa just offers as herself,” he said.
The luxury amenities include a saltwater swimming pool, tanning studio and dog park. The $24 million project is the biggest District 1 has seen in nearly two decades.
“There was no developments since the late 1960’s there, so this is certainly a jump-start and we welcome Bellamy and we’re looking forward to being great neighbors and great partners,” said Kaytrina Simmons, Councilwoman f0r District 1.
Bellamy Florence will open for the start of the Fall semester, with move-ins starting August 10th.
