For all you problems solvers and computer enthusiasts, next weekend, Lowe Mill is hosting an open competition at STEAM Works.
The event is all about finding solutions to some of NASA’s challenges.
For those that can “hack it”, a grand prize includes a ten thousand dollar check.
And while money is a good incentive, the community of Huntsville’s reputation of putting an emphasis on science and math allows this competition to take that to the next level.
Toni Eberhart, New Leaf Digital Executive Director, says, “At New Leaf Digital, we are more about bringing the atmosphere of innovation and taking the information and taking the ideas and the knowledge that they have as a community as any aspect of STEAM and putting it to work.”
Eberhart went on to say that the competition is open and free to the public, so she encourages any interested locals to sign up.

The event is organized by New Leaf Digital with help from Huntsville STEAM Works as well as The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
