Volunteers give a Morgan County rescue mission a facelift as part of United Way’s Day of Caring.
More than 50 volunteers from Indorama Ventures painted, landscaped and renovated bedrooms at the Tennessee Valley Outreach. Day of Caring is an opportunity for people to get their hands dirty and learn about the various nonprofits in the community.
“What we worked on today was to improve the mom and child room and the bedrooms and just kind of make it a little bit of a happier place, clean it up a little bit, make some mechanical improvements. We refurnished the chapel,” said Tammy Gaullgatza spokesperson for Indorama Ventures.
Tennessee Valley Outreach houses homeless families and helps them get back on their feet. Day of Caring kicks off the United Way of Morgan County’s 2018-19 fundraising campaign.
