Monte Sano Art Festival kicks off this weekend

The festival has been a tradition in Huntsville for 20 years now, bringing art-lovers in the area out by the hundreds.

Works of art from artists across the country are on display for locals to check out at the Monte Sano Art Festival.

The festival has been a tradition in Huntsville for 20 years now, bringing art-lovers in the area out by the hundreds.

Food trucks and kids play areas make this a family-friendly event for locals. Plenty chose to bring their pets along for a walk while looking at pieces.

One Mississippi-based artist tells us that these festivals are a great way to spark an interest in the next generation of artists. Noel Jones is an Abstract Painter, whose passion for art was sparked years ago by curiosity and the support of his family. He says coming to an art festival like this can open the mind of a young person. Jones adds,  “It lets you see there are other things in life that you can actually do with your time, and just spending that time being creative… Doing things that actually bring calmness to people and also give people a sense of ease. Just having fun with it is what it’s all about. Because everyone has a gift, you just have to find it.”

Sunday, the festival will be going on 9am- 4pm at Monte Sano State Park.
