Mayor’s Healthy Huntsville Walk: A look at some of the adoptable dogs you’ll see there

The free, one mile walk will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 starting at 6 pm at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.

Mayor Tommy Battle is partnering with Huntsville Animal Services for the Healthy Huntsville Walk, promoting healthy living and heart health.

The free, one mile walk will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 starting at 6 pm at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.

Participants have the chance to walk some of Huntsville Animal Shelter’s pups who are looking for their forever homes, or bring their own dogs out for the fun.

Huntsville’s only Facility Dogs will also be walking with the Mayor. Huntsville Hospital’s Asteroid and National Children’s Advocacy Center’s Wilson VI will be there to meet participants.

The Huntsville Botanical Garden walk is in partnership with the “Fidos After Five” program, where leashed dogs are welcome in the Garden on Mondays -Thursdays, from 5-7 p.m.. in August and September. Citizens are welcome to join the walks, even if they don’t have a dog.
