It’s been one month since the Madison City property tax increase was approved and the school system is already preparing the new elementary school.

Tuesday night, the Madison City School Board approved the bid for site preparation for the school. It will be on Wall Triana near Brownsferry Road. Superintendent Robby Parker says grading work will start in November and construction will start in the spring.

The school is scheduled to open in August of 2021. Construction on the new middle school is also expected to start in the spring. It’s scheduled to open in 2022.
