Folks put on their most attention-grabbing holiday gear, but you’d be surprised by where they were wearing it. It’s the annual “Ugly Sweater Run” in Huntsville, and locals stayed fit while being festive.

Each year, people head out to Fleet Feet on Carl T Jones to meet up and get ready to run. But they have to dress the part. They even had prizes to give away for the runner with the “ugliest” holiday sweater.

Locals tell us it’s all fun, but it’s really to help promote fitness in the Tennessee Valley.

We spoke with Barbara Parker from Fleet Feet. She tells us people come back every year because they love the community it creates. She adds, “We have so many places to run. We have a large greenway system. Obviously, we have Monte Sano. There are many trails to run here in Huntsville. Fleet Feet is a great place for everyone to meet. We have our summer pub runs, we have weekend runs, training programs. I think it’s just a great hub for everyone to meet and get involved.”

They have more runs coming up if you’d like to join the fun! Click here for a full list of upcoming races.
