HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — It seems fitting that the same week an American rocket is scheduled to launch American astronauts to the International Space Station, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center launches into summertime.

After being closed for two months due to Covid-19, the museum will reopen to the public on Saturday, May 30 at 10:00am. If you're a Rocket Center member, you can visit the day before - Friday, May 29 from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Staff members at the museum will be following all social distancing and sanitation guidelines, and they recommend that you wear a face mask for protection.

Space Camp is coming back, too. It's scheduled to resume June 28 with Expedition 40 (which will make more sense if you're signed up) and run through July 3. Several summer-long and weekly camps that start before June 28 have been cancelled. If you're not sure if yours has been cancelled, click here.

If your camp has been cancelled, there are several options. You can:

  1. Transfer to a later date
  2. Hold a credit for later booking
  3. Request a refund
  4. Donate your Space Camp tuition to a scholarship to support a Camper in need.

Look for more information on what the U.S. Space and Rocket Center will be doing this summer in the coming days.
