One of UNA's mascot lions passes away at the age of 17

Sad news out of the University of North Alabama today.

Una, the school's female mascot, died this morning.

University leaders say she passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the lion habitat on campus.

They say her brother Leo and caregivers were right by her side.

She was 17 years old.
