Local rescuers warn, “Turn around. Don’t drown.”

Local rescue squads have been out in the Tennessee Valley dealing with cars trapped in flood waters.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — With local flooding approaching record levels in some areas, rescue squads are reminding the public, "Turn around...don't drown."

Don't go around barricades and don't drive through standing water, no matter how shallow you think it is. Even shallow water can have swift currents, and hidden dangers like limbs and logs can be under the surface.
