Three arrested in Morgan County home invasion and robbery

A juvenile in the house tried to protect their grandmother by confronting the intruders with a handgun.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — Three people are behind bars in Morgan County after a home invasion and robbery on Rescue Rd. in Union Hill.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, two people forced their way into the home and were confronted by a juvenile with a handgun, who grabbed it to protect their grandmother. The intruders took the gun from the juvenile and fled.

Around 1:30am, a sheriff's deputy on patrol saw a vehicle that matched the description of the car from the home invasion. and did a traffic stop in Somerville.

Investigators say three subjects, who matched the description from Rescue Rd, were located and detained. When investigators arrived at the scene, a handgun matching the one taken from the scene on Rescue Rd was located in the vehicle in plain view.

Three individuals were arrested and charged with Robbery, 1st Degree, a Class A felony:
▪️Savon C Black, 19 of Fayetteville, TN
▪️Erica Nicole Campbell, 18 of Somerville
▪️Brandon Lee Taylor, 20 of Lacey's Spring

Savon C. Black and Brandon Lee Taylor are the two that allegedly entered the home. Investigators say Erica Nicole Campbell was the driver and did not go in the house, but all three are charged with the same crime. 

All three were taken to the Morgan County Jail with bond pending.
