Huntsville Police Recruiting Meet-and-Greet

For those considering a rewarding career in public safety, now’s their chance to learn about the exciting opportunities available at the Huntsville Police Department (HPD).

HPD will host an informal meet-and-greet event on Wednesday, March 23, from 5-7 p.m. at the City of Huntsville’s new Public Safety Training Complex, 5365 Triana Blvd. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at how HPD operates and talk with officers about joining the force.

Huntsville Fire & Rescue Meet-and-Greet

If you missed Huntsville Fire & Rescue’s first recruitment event in May, you’ll soon have another chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a firefighter.

A second informal meetup will take place Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at the City’s new Public Safety Training Complex, 5365 Triana Blvd. Attendees will receive a facility tour and have an opportunity to ask questions about being a firefighter.

“I encourage anyone with even the slightest interest in firefighting to come out, meet the leadership team and get more information about this dynamic career,” said Cory Green, a recruiter and driver/engineer at Huntsville Fire & Rescue. “We can’t wait to meet you!”

The six-week recruitment campaign will run through Thursday, June 30. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, maintain a valid driver’s license, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have no felony convictions.

Jasper Career Center hosting job fair for Buffalo Rock

The Jasper Career Center is hosting a hiring event for Buffalo Rock on Tuesday, June 14 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The company is hiring for several positions, including: Class A CDL delivery merchandiser, sales support, and Non-CDL delivery merchandiser.  

Buffalo Rock offers a $500 hiring incentive bonus, a $1250 sign-on bonus, and competitive benefits.

HUNTSVILLE CAREER CENTER HOSTING JOB FAIR FOR BUFFALO ROCK

The Huntsville Career Center is hosting an onsite job fair for Buffalo Rock. The company is hiring for multiple positions, including CDL Drivers, Retail Account Merchandisers, Warehouse Pickers, and Warehouse Support.

The company offers paid personal time, vacation, and holiday pay. They are offering a $1,250 sign-on bonus.

The positions are in the Huntsville and Athens area. The company is looking for approximately 60 workers.

The job fair will be held on May 24, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The Huntsville Career Center is located at 2535 Sparkman Drive NW.

Monday, May 23, on your calendar. The U.S. Postal Service is hosting a job fair at the Decatur Post Office, 400 Well St NE, Decatur, AL 35601. Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., postal officials will be onsite to answer employment questions and to assist with the application process for these delivery positions:

Boeing Job Fair

Boeing is hiring experienced Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality professionals in Huntsville, and will be hosting an in-person career event Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Calhoun Community College hiring event:

The Calhoun Community College Career Services Division will host a hiring event in partnership with Alliance Source Testing. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 10, on the Decatur campus in room 150 of the Math, Science, and Administration (MSA) building. Check-in begins at 11:30 am with a presentation to follow at 12:00 noon. The event is free.

According to Kelli Morris, Calhoun’s Career Services Director, attendees will learn about Alliance’s current full-time and internship opportunities, as well as future employment opportunities. Company representatives will also be on hand and will be available for a meet and greet or to answer any questions.

“We want to encourage Calhoun students, alums, and the public to attend this event,” commented Morris. “This event will serve as a direct pipeline to not only speak to Alliance representatives, but it is a great opportunity to start a career with a local leading provider of source testing, analytical services and emissions monitoring services,” added Morris.

Madison County Schools Job Fair

The Madison County School System will be hosting its annual Career Fair on May 13, 2022. The event will occur at the systems Central Office and Career Technical Center, located at 1275 Jordan Road in Huntsville, from 2:00 -5:00 PM. Principals and district administrators will be on-hand to discuss open positions and accept resumes.

Free Veteran Hiring Event

Still Serving Veterans and long-time partners, American Freedom Foundation, are hosting a Your Next Mission Job Fair, on Tuesday, 26 April 2022 from 10:00 - 4:00 at the Jackson Center in Huntsville, AL.   

This event is special for three reasons.  First, there is a stellar group of ~50 employers ready to hire Veterans. These are truly "veteran friendly" employers with available jobs. Tyson Foods

Tyson Foods is hosting a community celebration to welcome the arrival of spring, including a free Easter egg hunt, lunch, games and prizes. The event is open to the public, and the hunt will begin at 1 p.m. All children interested in gathering eggs must bring a basket. The Easter Bunny will be making a surprise visit and available for photos. 

Tyson team members will also host an on-site career fair and be available to answer any questions community members may have about employment opportunities with the company.  

The Albertville Tyson facility is looking to hire new team members for second shift, including supervisor positions. In late 2021, Tyson increased starting wages for all Alabama facilities to $15.00 per hour or approximately $31,200 a year. An additional increase in shift differential for second and third shifts is $17.00 or approximately $35,360 a year. Annual salary is based on the hourly rate and working 40 hours per week.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is holding a job fair Thursday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to fill more than 400 full-time, part-time and seasonal positions in 32 areas. Opportunities include museum guides, guest services representatives, sales associates, camp counselors, food service workers, custodial workers, ropes course instructors, education presenters, lifeguards and more.

Some jobs start immediately, and others begin in late May. Front-line jobs start at $12 an hour and up.
