Thousands of dollars is going to help local foster children and Huntsville’s homeless, thanks to the community.
It was Taste of Huntsville’s biggest year yet with more than 1,000 people attending. They raised $20 thousand for Kids To Love and the Downtown Rescue Mission.
That money means education and Christmas presents for kids who need love and more meals for those in need. Each organization got $10 thousand.
“That can feed the entire Mission for the day, it can keep the power on, it’ll definitely keep some heat going tonight and tomorrow night,” said Tonia Camardella with the DRM. “So it’s a huge benefit to our residents as a whole.”
This year’s event had the Halloween theme “Taste or Treat” and they plan to make it just as big next year.
