School delays due to winter weather threat - Wed. Feb 1, 2023

Some school districts are delaying the start of the school day due to possible impacts from winter weather.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS AND DELAYS

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. — Some school districts in the Tennessee Valley are delaying their school start times on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023 due to the possible effects of winter weather. 

  • Athens City Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Calhoun Community College: Due to the threat of wintry weather conditions, all Calhoun Community College campuses will delay opening to 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. 
  • Colbert County Schools: Three-hour delay
  • Florence City Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Franklin County Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Lauderdale County School System: 10:30 a.m. (Bus routes will remain the same, just delayed to match 10:30 a.m. start time.)
  • Lawrence County Schools: Two-hour delay  
  • Limestone County Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Morgan County Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Muscle Shoals City Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Northwest Shoals Community College: Due to the threat of icy road conditions and out of an abundance of caution, Northwest-Shoals Community College will delay opening tomorrow, February 1st, until 9:30 a.m. for the Phil Campbell and Shoals campuses.  
  • Russellville City Schools: Two-hour delay; buses on two-hour delay
  • Tuscumbia City Schools: Two-hour delay
  • Lincoln County (TN) School System schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 1.
