FLORENCE, Ala. — Some schools in the Tennessee Valley are delaying opening or closing completely due to the risk of winter weather on Thurs., Feb. 18 and Friday, February 19.

February 18:
Alabama A&M University: Will continue operations via "telework" for nonessential personnel on Thursday, February 18, 2021. In-person classes will meet remotely.
Athens City Schools: eLearning on Thursday, February 18.There will be no in-person classes.Students without a device and/or Internet services should make up work missed when school resumes.Twelve month employees will be on a 3 hour delay.
Athens State University: Closed February 18
Calhoun Community College: Evening classes on February 17 are canceled. Calhoun Community College will delay its opening to 10 a.m. on February 18.
Colbert County Schools: Closed on Thursday, February 18th. This closure includes all extracurricular activities as well.
Country Day School: Closed February 18
Cullman County Schools: Virtual learning on February 18.
Decatur City Schools: Closed February 18.
Drake State: Closed February 18
Florence City Schools: Florence City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19.
Hartselle City Schools: Hartselle City Schools will have a Virtual Learning Day on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Only 12 month employees should report to their buildings by 10:00 a.m.
Huntsville City Schools: Closed February 18.
Heritage Christian University (Florence, AL): Closed Thursday, February 18. No classes. Offices will be closed.
Jackson County Schools: 2 hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, Feb 18th, 2021. If the bus normally comes by your house at 6:30 it will come by at 8:30 tomorrow. Car riders may arrive at the school after 9:15 a.m. and before 9:45 a.m.

University of North Alabama: University of North Alabama will be closed Thursday, Feb. 18, for campus-based operations.
Russellville City Schools: Closed on Thursday, February 18. School officials will re-evaluate the situation before making a decision for Friday.
Sheffield City Schools: Closed on Thursday, February 18, 2021. The SHS basketball game vs Whitesburg Christian will be played the next possible day.

Tuscumbia City Schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, February 18th.
University of Alabama Huntsville: All courses will be delivered in remote format today, February 18, 2021. No classes will meet on campus today.

Huntsville Municipal Night Court: Due to the threat of inclement winter weather, the 5:30 p.m. Night Court docket for Huntsville Municipal Court has been postponed.

The Alabama Department of Public Health has announced closures for the following county health departments on February 18:

Limestone County COVID vaccine clinic reports: Limestone County Health Department will delay opening today February 18 until 12 noon due to the inclement weather. "We will open at 12 for 2nd dose Covid vaccine patients. We will continue to honor all missed vaccine appointments this afternoon, tomorrow and next week. Please be safe in traveling.
