SCAM ALERT: Madison County Sheriff's Office requests money for missing jury duty

There have been reports that people getting these calls need to pay a fine by credit card, gift card or money transfer.

MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from Madison County Sheriff's Office and saying you failed to report for jury duty, please know it's a scam. 

Real summonses for jury duty will come in the mail and law enforcement will never collect fees for jury duty.

If you receive a scam phone call, you can contact the sheriff's office at (256) 722-7181.
