'Suspicious call' near Heritage Elementary School was a false alarm

MADISON, Ala. — UPDATE: The suspicious call that triggered an investigation by Madison police was a false alarm, according to the department's Public Information Officer Lt. Anderson. The incident happened after school hours.

Madison Police are asking the public to avoid the area around Heritage Elementary School as they investigate what they're calling a "suspicious call".

In an email, they stated that no one is injured and no children are involved.

The public is asked to avoid the area and avoid walking trails around Heritage Elementary until about 7:00 p.m.
