People in the Tennessee Valley making and donating face masks

One Facebook group brought dozens of people together to make face masks for health care workers and first responders.

So many across the Tennessee Valley are coming together to get face masks to local health care workers and first responders.

Only a few weeks ago, Felicia Jones started a Facebook group for people willing to make face masks to donate. Now, dozens have joined the effort and they've made over 2,000 face masks so far.

Jones says she started doing this after she lost her job due to the pandemic.

"No matter how bad you have it, there's always people that's going to have it a lot worse," said Jones. "The safer all of our people that are working for the public are, the safer all of our elderly will be, the safer everybody will be."

Jones has also set up a fundraiser on Facebook to help buy more mask materials and get supplies to the elderly.
