Need a ride to the polls? Lift Our Vote has you covered

Lift Our Vote is running a voter transportation program to help increase voter participation in Alabama.

The Party to the Polls program will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, stopping on Oct. 29 and resuming for election day. For route info or to schedule a pickup, call 256-427-8116.

The organization said that social distancing and masking will be strictly enforced.

The General Election is just around the corner. If you’re planning on absentee voting, the last day to submit an application is on Oct. 29. You must either hand deliver your absentee ballot or have it postmarked by Nov. 2.

If you plan of voting in person, make sure you know what your designated polling place. You can find yours on the Secretary of State’s website. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Make sure you bring a valid photo ID with you when you go to vote.
