HUNTSVILLE, Ala — A new robotic distribution warehouse is heading to the Rocket City. On Tuesday, leaders including City of Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Vice President of Small Business & Events for Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce Pammie Jimmar, and Secretary of State John Merrill, broke ground on the future site along Mastin Lake Road.
Leaders say the multi-level shuttle system is the first of its kind in the Southeast. The new automated warehouse is expected to create forty new jobs. C-Store Master will be hiring in the coming months.
"We have a groundbreaking for a warehouse distribution, a high-tech warehouse distribution system that's going to be 120,000 square feet; $12 million investment in our community. But that just adds to all the investment that we've had in the Madison County-Huntsville area over the last year," says City of Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle.
The warehouse is set to open within the first few months of next year.
