MidCity hosts free 'Drive-In Movie' Memorial Day weekend

People were able to watch 'Wonder Woman' from the comfort of their own cars.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Mid-City District kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a free drive-in movie on Saturday night. Organizers screened 'Wonder Woman.'

Folks filled the parking lot at the MidCity plaza for in-car viewing. Some people also had an opportunity to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs for a closer view.

Food trucks were on site, as well as sanitizing stations and portable toilets. Organizers say they're excited to host the event.

"This is our first endeavor back into doing events and we're thrilled to be back, and of course we want to be safe too. But, we've got to start and sometimes being inventive or even looking back to our past for creative ways to get back together is the perfect thing to do," says MidCity Marketing & Property Activation Director, Lindsey Pattillo Keane.
