MCSO investigators believe Harvest deadly shooting was from an 'altercation over fireworks'

One man is shot and killed, and the suspect is now facing capital murder charges.

HARVEST, Ala. — A teen is facing capital murder charges after a man was shot and killed overnight in Harvest. Madison County Sheriff's investigators believe the shooting was over an altercation with fireworks.

Investigators say they responded to the shooting just over midnight on the 100 Block off Cloverbrook Drive.

The victim is identified as Keelan Andrews, 38.

Authorities say the suspect is Montrae Trevius Corbett, 18. Corbett is now booked into the Madison County Main Facility. Investigators say Andrews' body was found on the roadway, and Corbett shot Andrews in the chest from a vehicle.

People say the community is normally quiet. One neighbor didn't know Andrews that much, but says the interaction with him was friendly.

On July 5, 2020, just after midnight, MCSO deputies responded to a s... hooting scene in the 100 block of Cloverbrook Drive in Harvest. During this incident, one black male was found deceased in the roadway from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The neighbor also mentioned back in 2015, not too far away from the scene of the shooting, a man was killed with a crossbow. It was a domestic situation according to authorities.

The neighbor who declined to go on camera also says from personal experience they have never had an altercation with other neighbors, nor with outsiders.

It's still unconfirmed if Andrews and Corbett live in the area. The bond for Corbett is set at $75,000.
