Marshall County Sheriff's Office launches new app

People can submit a crime tip and apply for or renew a pistol permit on the app.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Alabama — All the information you need from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office is now at your fingertips.

After working on it for months, the Sheriff's Office launched its new app on Monday.

A lot of the information now available on the app can also be found on the Sheriff's Office website.

People can submit a tip, commend or submit a complaint on a deputy, and even apply for or renew a pistol permit on the app. The current inmate roster, sex offender list, and most wanted are also just a click away.

Sheriff Phil Sims says the app is another way for them to reach and communicate with the community.

"It's our way here at the Sheriff's Office to stay in more real time connection with our people here in the county, the people we serve, the people we work for, work with," said Sims.

The app was built by thesheriffapp.com and can send push alerts for severe weather and press releases.

It can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store. To find the app, just search Marshall Sheriff AL.
