Veteran coach Harold Wells will be taking the reigns for the Mae Jemison football team.
Wells spent 24 years as the head coach at J.O. Johnson (1992-2015). During his tenure, his overall record was 129-135. The Jaguars made it to the playoffs 14 times, including four trips to the quarterfinals and one state semifinal appearance.
Wells is taking over the program after Kelvis White took the head coaching job at Bob Jones. The Jaguars went 5-6 last season and fell to Cullman in the first round of the playoffs.
The Jaguars first game is set for Friday, August 28th at Hartselle at 7 p.m.
