Local sports bar hopes to keep everyone safe on Game Day

The End Zone sports bar has been preparing for football season since earlier this summer.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A locally owned sports bar is doing their best to slow the spread of COVID-19, and make sure that The Tennessee Valley enjoys football season.

The End Zone has been open for three years on 1851 University drive. During the summer, general manager, Donald Trott prepares for football season by stocking up on everything they need.

"Ever since COVID happened, we've been following very strict protocols," Trott explained. "We have hand sanitizer stations set up at designated areas, we have disposable menus and we also have a CDC approved cleaner that we clean all of our tables with after each use."

According to Trott, football season is The End Zone's busiest time of the year. The University of Alabama opened their season in Miami, playing against the University of Miami on September 3, and Trott knew it would be a busy day.

"The summer months, it's almost like our pre-season," Trott said. "So we get ramped up for this event and everything that happens, and we get to iron out the kinks. We get to see what kind of staff we need, and then we load up on the staff at the very end, and today is opening day."
