MADISON, Ala. — As Hurricane Ida swept across the Gulf Coast and devastated regions as far north as New York, many people and pets were left without shelter or supplies.

Friends of Rescue (FOR) and Companion Animal Care have teamed up for a pet supplies drive to help those impacted by the storm. Through Sept. 24, you can donate items for cats and dogs including:

  • Dry cat and dog food and treats
  • Collars
  • Leashes
  • Harnesses
  • Crates
  • Carriers
  • Disposable cat litter boxes
  • Other non-perishable pet items

Items can be dropped off at any of these locations:

  • Zen Dog Grooming - 1961 Winchester Road, Huntsville, 35811
  • Chase Animal Hospital - 1760 Hwy 72 East, Huntsville, 35811
  • Hollywood Feed Merchants Walk - 920 Bob Wallace Ave. Ste 315, Huntsville, 35801
  • Hollywood Feed Whitesburg - 5000 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, 35802
  • Hollywood Feed Clift Farms - 419 John Henry Way, Suite G, Madison, 35757
  • Petagree Pet Center - 401 Slaughter Road, Madison, 35857
  • Companion Animal Care - 7945 Highway 72 West, Madison, 35758

On a Facebook post, Friends of Rescue says:

We are so grateful for everyone that has joined with us and made donations to the Hurricane Supply Drive! We’ll be collecting supplies through the end of the month, so you still have time to visit one of our drop-off locations! This is just one cache of donated supplies- dog items are on the left and cat items on the right. It’s not a competition and you don’t have to pick a side- the animals are all winners here! But whether you’re Team Dog or Team Cat, thanks for being Team FOR
