Local glass companies see spike in plexiglass sales

As more people go back to work, offices are buying more plexiglass shields.

MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Local glass companies are seeing a bigger need for plexiglass.

The Madison Glass Company says they've had a large spike in plexiglass sales since the pandemic. As more people go back to work, offices are buying more plexiglass shields.

They say they're also seeing a big increase in businesses buying long-term glass shield options.

Madison Glass Company Sales and Marketing Chair, Stephanie Clark, said, "They know the virus is going to be around for a while, so then, they've been investing in the glass, so that they don't have to worry about it in the future, having to redo the plexiglass or even to convert to the glass later."

They say the need in plexiglass shields has been consistent and that they expect this trend to continue for a while.
