LifeSouth looking for COVID-19 survivors in North Alabama

The plasma contains antibodies that may help fight the virus.

ALABAMA, USA — LifeSouth is looking for people in North Alabama who have recovered from COVID-19. 

They are partnering with medical centers to collect plasma from recovered patients to transfuse to critically ill COVID-19 patients to help with recovery.

You qualify if:

  • you are a recovered COVID-19 patient
  • have not had symptoms for at least 14 days and test negative by a lab
  • or after 28 days without symptoms with no follow-up testing required

The treatment is considered an investigational new drug by the FDA. 

The plasma may contain antibodies that could help fight the virus.
