Jackson County Commission employee passes away after contracting coronavirus

The part-time employee worked at courthouse, but did not have regular contact with the public.

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Jackson County Commission on Wednesday announced that a part-time employee passed away after contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Jackson County Commission, Scottsboro, AL. 2.4K likes. The Jackson County Commission meetings are as follows: 1st & 3rd Mondays are Work Sessions. 2nd & 4th Mondays are Regular Meetings.

According to the letter posted by the commission on Facebook, the employee did not have regular contact with the public and that since their last day of work, the expected incubation period has passed. They also said that none of the employees who worked in the same department have reported any COVID-19 symptoms.

The employees's work area will be fully sanitized an checked before employees return to work  on the anticipated date of April 6.

The County Commission will continue to monitor the situation.
