LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Governor Kay Ivey made her way to Lee County to tour the damage after EF4 tornadoes devastated most of the area.
The governor got a firsthand look at the damage from a helicopter and on the ground. She talked about the outpouring of support for the people of Lee County and how it shows resilience of Alabamians.
“You know we never know what tomorrow may bring there’s a lot of uncertainty about what tomorrow may bring but the one thing we flat do know there is certainty in the resilience of the people of Alabama we have done it before we will do it again and we will do it here in Lee County as well,” Governor Ivey said.
Governor Ivey’s visit to Lee County comes just days before President Trump is scheduled to visit on Friday, March 8.
