Tanner High School graduate part of Presidential Inauguration as member of US Army Band

"This is Jason Sanders. A Tanner High School graduate and a member of the US ARMY BAND in DC, performing in the Inauguration today. #TannerPride," the school said.

TANNER, Ala. — A graduate of Tanner High School participated in Wednesday's Presidential Inauguration as a member of the U.S. Army Band, the school said in a Facebook post.

"This is Jason Sanders. A Tanner High School graduate and a member of the US ARMY BAND in DC, performing in the Inauguration today. #TannerPride," the post reads.

Sanders commented on the post saying it was an honor to be a part of the process.

"Thanks Everyone," Sanders wrote. "I learned to play trumpet at Tanner and didn’t expect to play beyond 7th grade when I started. Thankful for my band director Mr Ken Engle that encouraged me to stick with it. I see my classmates, other peers and past/current teachers at Tanner doing amazing things for their neighbors and the world around them. Honored to be a part of that community and everything that is associated with it."
