The Moon BakeShop is a family-owned business in Downtown Huntsville.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — One family-owned bakery in Huntsville is excited to see all of the new business that restaurant week will bring.

Huntsville restaurant week runs from August 13 to August 22. It features all types of businesses in the Rocket City. The Moon BakeShop opened in 2019, and things took an unexpected turn in 2020 because of the pandemic.

"Especially over this past year since COVID started were so grateful and thankful for everyone that continued to support us," Co-owner Maddie Watkins said. "It's just us. It's just our family-owned business and the outpouring of support has meant everything to us."

The Moon BakeShop had to think of creative ways to keep their doors open, and they're thankful for the community that stuck by them.

"We're so excited that restaurant week will hopefully bring new people here if they haven't had the opportunity to try us before," Watkins explained. "We make everything from scratch."
